Short talking points:
- Happening this weekend
- The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, May 7th. The Kentucky Derby is the first leg of the Triple Crown, the second being The Preakness and third The Belmont Stakes. The last time a horse actually won the triple crown was in 1978, 44 years ago. Coverage begins at 12pm EST on the USA Network. It switches to NBC and Peacock at 2:30pm. The race is at 6:57 EST, and coverage ends at 7:30pm.
- Mother’s day is this Sunday, May 8th. If you don’t feel like getting her flowers, try making her a custom card on canva.com and texting it to her. Better, yet, make three or four and send them throughout the day. Images are very easy to make on Canva and they will be a personal creation just for her.
- WhatsApp increases the maximum size of a group from 256 people to 512. It is now twice as big as it was before.
- What’s all this fuss about a Supreme Court leak? Apparently, a document from the Supreme Court were leaked that showed that the court is ready to overturn Roe vs Wade and allow states to outlaw abortions at nearly all stages of pregnancy. The document that was leaked was a draft opinion by Samual Alito, a conservative justice. It was leaked to Politico for a story that was published this past Monday. The abortion case under appeal is from Mississippi.
- Note: Roe vs Wade was a landmark decision made by the Supreme Court in 1973 which protected a woman’s right to get an abortion.
