In very basic terms, it’s the spectrum, range, or collection of all the different colors that can be used in an image. It is a useful conceptual tool for understanding the color capabilities of a particular device or digital file.
A well-known color space is RGB. There are 256 shades of red, 256 shades of green, and 256 shades of blue. Any given color in the RGB color space is created by combining exactly one shade of red, one shade of green, and one shade of blue.
