Guard sizes

1 guard – 1/8th inch
2 guard – 2/8th inches or 1/4 inch
3 guard – 3/8th inches
4 guard – 4/8th inches or 1/2 inch
5 guard – 5/8th inch
6 guard – 6/8th inches or 3/4 inch
7 guard – 7/8th inch
8 guard – 8/8th inches or 1 inch

To calculate the size of the guard, multiple the number by 1/8th inch.

For example, a 3 guard is 3/8th inches.
