-1. Training Camp
In the NFL, training camp refers to the two weeks of practice time before pre-season games begin. It usually starts in the middle of July, and during this time, teams conduct practice sessions at an outside location, usually a university. Training camp is similar to Spring Training in the MLB, and usually lasts a few weeks.
0. Pre-season
The preseason typically kicks off on the first weekend of August and includes 3 full weekends of exhibition games.
NFL teams use the preseason games as warm-ups for the regulars and auditions for the newcomers. Everyone involved knows that the final scores of the games are meaningless.
1. Regular season
When does it start?
The NFL regular season kicks off on Thurs, September 8 with the defending champs LA Rams hosting the Buffalo Bills in the NFL Kickoff Game.
The NFL Kickoff Game marks the start of the regular season and is a festive event. The game is preceded by a concert and a few ceremonies.
When does it end?
The regular season ends on Jan 8, 2023. It lasts around 4 months.
How many games does each team play?
The season is played over an 18 week period, with each of the 32 teams playing 17 games with one bye week.
Each team plays the other three teams in its division twice.

There will be 4 games played internationally. 3 in London, and 1 in Munich, Germany

Thanksgiving
3 games a scheduled for turkey day as per tradition

This year, the league will play 3 games on Christmas because it falls on a Sunday

New Year’s Day
There will be games played on New Year’s Day since it falls on a Sunday. College football bowl games which are regularly scheduled to be played on New Years day will be moved to Jan 2.
2. Playoffs, Pro Bowl, and Super Bowl
When does it start?
The playoffs start on Jan 14th.
When does it end?
The playoffs end with Super Bowl LVII (57) on Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona where the Cardinals plays.
The Pro Bowl
The Pro Bowl is the all-star game of the NFL. Since It is played the weekend before the Super Bowl, players that make the Pro Bowl from the teams playing in the Super Bowl don’t play in the Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl will be played on Feb. 5th in Orlando, Florida.

This will be the first year in which Thursday Night Football games will be played on Amazon Prime Video
4. League Structure
The 32 teams in the NFL are split into two nation-wide conferences, the AFC and NFC. Each conference has 16 teams.
Each conference is then divided into 4 divisions based on their location: North, East, South, and West. There are 4 teams in each division.
