What are tides? Why are there tides?

WHAT are tides?

Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels throughout the day caused by the gravitational force that the Moon exerts on the Earth.

High tide is when the sea level is at its highest. Low tide is when the sea level is at its lowest. There are two high tides and low tides every lunar day.
